After fulfilling her duties as the daughter of Syrian immigrants to New York City by becoming an engineer, Laura Laham has put aside her manufacturing real world skills to create something even more important - jokes about her duties as the daughter of Syrian immigrants to New York City.
Laura is based in New York where she has performed in clubs like The New York Comedy Club and Gotham Comedy Club as well as a number of different pubs, theaters, and secret locations - you have to message the producer to find out it’s a corner bodega. New York is fun like that.
She’s performed at Caroline’s on Broadway in New York City opening for the internationally headlining Bassem Youssef. She’s often found at the New York Arab American Comedy Festival. She was also named Best of the Fest in Burbank Comedy Festival.
Most recently, Laura has made trips to the Middle East where she’s performed on stages and in cafes in both Amman, Jordan and Dubai, UAE. She personally believes the Burj Khalifa is just trying to prove something.
In the time she isn’t writing or re-writing or convincing herself she is not an imposter, she obsesses over her D&D character, an Air Genasi Shadow Monk with a serious vendetta against moon. This is not a joke, she loves D&D. Dungeons and Dragons. She won’t shut up about it. She even started making her own dice that she swears are not weighted (and if they are it’s because of the resin bubbles and not general malice).
